RegTech access to APRA Connect test

Last updated: 4 June 2021

Access to APRA Connect test will be made available to Regulatory technology businesses (RegTechs) on an ongoing basis. Industry data collections will be made available on APRA Connect as APRA replaces them, and D2A will continue to be used for most existing collections at this point.

RegTechs can request access to the test environment by contacting APRA and completing a Deed for access.

Steps required to request access

Access to the APRA Connect test environment can be requested by emailing dataanalytics@apra.gov.au.

The request should include the following information:

  • An expression of interest for the organisation to access the APRA Connect test environment
  • The industry to which the organisation should be initially assigned to
  • Information about the nominated individual who will be the organisation’s initial Regulatory Reporting Administrator, including their contact details, full legal name and business email address as set up in RAM (this user will be assigned the Regulatory Reporting Administrator role, simplifying new user process for your organisation)

Once the RegTech request for access is received by APRA, a “Deed for access” document will be provided to the RegTech which must be signed and returned to APRA before access can be granted. The Deed specifies the terms of use for the test environment.

Once APRA advises that the RegTech has been established in APRA Connect test, users can complete the new user process as described in the APRA Connect Guide.

Pre-requisite: A RegTech can authorise users in RAM prior to APRA confirming that access is granted. Refer to published materials to find out more about myGovID and RAM

Important note: RegTech access is limited to one industry at a time

Industry data collections will be made available on APRA Connect as APRA replaces them, and D2A will continue to be used for most collections at this point.

APRA Connect allows an organisation to be assigned to only one industry at a time.

If the RegTech works across multiple industries, the RegTech can request to be moved to another industry by emailing dataanalytics@apra.gov.au.

There is no limit on the number of times an organisation can request to be switched to a different industry.
