APRA's licensing process

APRA licenses banking, insurance and superannuation businesses to operate in Australia, and supervises them to ensure that under all reasonable circumstances they keep their financial promises made to their beneficiaries (i.e. depositors, policyholders and superannuation fund members. The rules and requirements for starting an APRA-regulated entity in Australia may vary depending on the type of business that is being established.
