Thursday 22 August 2019

Every quarter, APRA releases its general insurance performance and institution-level statistics publications. See more information relating these statistics publications below:

The September 2019 statistics will be published on 28 November 2019.

Quarterly general insurance performance statistics

The Quarterly General Insurance Performance Statistics provide industry aggregate summaries of financial performance, financial position, capital adequacy and key ratios.

These Statistics also include detailed statistics at a class of business level, state-level premium and claims expenses, a breakdown of operating income and expenses, and more granular solvency information. The performance statistics of insurers may be impacted by factors outside of their control, such as natural catastrophe events, as well as those driven by their internal processes, such as the timing of actuarial valuations. Users should take these factors into account when interpreting the statistics.
