The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) today released its March 2015 Quarterly Superannuation Performance publication and March 2015 Quarterly MySuper Statistics report.
The Quarterly Superannuation Performance publication has been updated to include segmentation of certain statistics by fund type. The publication now includes financial performance, financial position, asset allocation and other selected statistics for each of the fund types (corporate, industry, public sector and retail).
APRA has also revised all editions of the Quarterly MySuper Statistics report, from September 2013 to December 2014, through release of a ‘back series’. The back series report contains all tables and revisions in each quarter, and will assist users in making meaningful comparisons and conducting analysis.
Further, on 20 May 2015 APRA issued a letter to Registrable Superannuation Entities licensees regarding the publication of superannuation statistics and confidentiality of data. As a result of APRA’s decision to determine further data non-confidential, publications (including the Quarterly Superannuation Performance publication) will now include additional detailed statistics without confidentiality protection measures. The letter is available on APRA’s website.
