The application must be made jointly by the transferor and the transferee private health insurer.

How to apply to merge or acquire health benefit funds

Applicants should read the following application and guidance material, before applying for approval of merger and acquisition of health benefit funds with APRA. Private health insurers are encouraged to discuss any proposed application with their APRA Responsible Supervisor before lodging the application.


Schedule of fees

You must pay a non-refundable application fee of $11,000 when you lodge your application. 

The application fee can be paid by cheque (made payable to APRA) or electronic funds transfer (EFT). Please contact your APRA Responsible Supervisor for EFT details.
