ADI centralised publication consultation response

On 13 December 2022, APRA released an update on information related to the ADI centralised publication (ADICP) and a short consultation on bringing forward the publication frequency of four metrics to be on a quarterly basis from the start of the publication for the March quarter 2023 reference period.1

This publication will improve the transparency of the ADI industry and provide relief for smaller non-significant financial institution (non-SFI) ADIs from disclosure obligations. It will also provide market participants access to key data points in a way that is easier to compare and analyse than standalone individual disclosures, as not all disclosure dates are aligned.

Response to submissions

There were three submissions, one of which was non-confidential. APRA also undertook further engagement with industry association members. All submissions were supportive of the ADICP commencing publishing the four metrics specified on a quarterly frequency from the start of the publication.

There was a suggestion in one submission to delay the release of the centralised publication to the June 2023 quarterly reference period. Delaying the publication to the June 2023 quarter reference period would mean there is no information for non-SFI ADIs publicly available for March quarter 2023 reference period due to the non-SFI carve-out under the new Prudential Standard APS 330 Public Disclosure. To ensure that there is continuously available information for non-SFIs, APRA does not plan to delay the start of the publication.

Next steps

The publication prototype and a mapping template will be provided to affected ADIs. The data will be determined non-confidential prior to the release of the new publication. The publication is expected to be released in June 2023.

APRA intends to expand the ADICP over coming years and will continue to consult with the ADI industry as it does so.

Yours sincerely,

Brandon Khoo
Executive Director
