D2A and Extranet are replacing AUSkey with myGovID and RAM

  • AUSkey will retire at 11:59pm (AEDT) on Friday 27 March 2020
  • Entities must take steps now to ensure continued access to APRA systems
  • D2A administrators must complete a minor update to D2A to change authentication.  As a prerequisite, they will need to set up their own myGovID and create a machine credential, following ATO published materials
  • All Extranet users must also set up their own myGovID and ensure they are authorised in RAM. The Extranet login link for myGovID will be available in March 2020.

What do entities need to do for D2A to be ready?

Entities are required to complete a minor update to D2A.  A system administrator will be required to complete the update, which requires the replacement of two files on the system.

After 27 March 2020, AUSkey will no longer be available. D2A instances will need to be updated to use the new myGovID authentication credential. Extranet users will need to use myGovID to login.

Note: Once an instance of D2A has been transitioned to the new authentication credential that instance will no longer be able to authenticate using AUSkey. If you use this same computer to access the APRA Extranet, you will also need to update the link for the Extranet. Please contact the D2A Help Desk for details.

Instructions to update D2A to replace AUSkey with myGovID and RAM

Published 6 February 2020

Prerequisites

Before completing the D2A update, administrators will need to complete three steps to set up and administer their own myGovID and create a machine credential. Links are provided to ATO published materials.

1. Obtain a digital identity

3. Create a machine credential

D2A administrators (Principal Authority and Machine Credential Administrator) must set up their digital identity and obtain a myGovID.

Entities need to ensure that their business ABN is linked and administrators are authorised in RAM.

For D2A, a Machine Credential Administrator will need to create a machine credential (this is not required for Extranet).

What will entities need to do for APRA Extranet?

Users of APRA Extranet will need to set up their own myGovID and ensure that their entity has authorised them to act on the entity’s behalf for APRA services, which are now available in RAM.

The Extranet login link will be updated from the end of March to only accept authentication using myGovID. In the meantime, users should continue to login using their AUSkey.

Note: Once an instance of D2A has been transitioned to the new authentication credential that instance will no longer be able to authenticate using AUSkey. If you use this same computer to access the APRA Extranet, you will also need to update the link for the Extranet. Please contact the D2A Help Desk for details.

Is APRA replacing D2A?

Yes, APRA is implementing a replacement system for D2A later in 2020.  In October 2019, APRA released an update on the new Data Collection Solution and updated the Implementation Plan.  APRA will confirm the implementation approach and timing in early 2020 once this review is completed.
