2023 survey of APRA-regulated entities

In February and March 2023, the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) will conduct its eighth survey of regulated entities to assist APRA in assessing its performance and effectiveness. The survey is designed to gauge stakeholder views about APRA across a range of activities.

The first survey was conducted in 2009, with subsequent surveys conducted biennially. The results from the last survey in 2021 (and prior to that year) can be accessed here.

In 2023, the survey will be jointly conducted by APRA and the Financial Regulator Assessment Authority (FRAA), an independent statutory body tasked with assessing and reporting on APRA’s effectiveness and capability. FRAA-specific questions have been designed to inform the ongoing review of APRA.

Orima Research has been engaged to administer the survey. Representatives of Orima will contact you or the appropriate respondent for your organisation via email in the coming days to outline the process for completing the survey. Importantly, we ask that your organisation’s response to the survey be formally signed off by your CEO or equivalent.

Completion of the survey is voluntary. However, we encourage you to respond and to be open and frank in your answers.

Neither APRA nor the FRAA will be able to identify individual responses and the results will be published only in aggregate form.

If you have any questions about your participation in the survey, please contact APRA by email at communications@apra.gov.au or the FRAA secretariat by email at FRAA@treasury.gov.au

This letter does not contain the link to the survey. The link will be emailed by Orima later this week.

We look forward to your support for this initiative.

Yours sincerely,
