Consultation on confidentiality of data collected under SRS 604.0

Superannuation
Published
23 October 2026

APRA is consulting on whether the specific data collected under SRS 604.0 RSE Licensee Profile and identified in Appendix 1 should be determined not to contain confidential information under section 57 of the APRA Act.

The purpose of this consultation is to facilitate APRA maintaining the existing format of the Annual Fund-Level Superannuation Statistics and Annual Superannuation Bulletin publications. APRA previously published the data collected under SRS 600.0 Profile and Structure RSE Licensee (SRS 600.0) in these publications. After SRS 600.0 was revoked in late 2025, APRA now collects similar data under SRS 604.0 RSE Licensee Profile (SRS 604.0).

APRA is not proposing through this consultation any change in the scope of data being published, or the format of publication.

Proposal for confidentiality

APRA proposes to determine the specified data collected under SRS 604.0 and identified in Appendix 1 does not contain confidential information for the purposes of section 57 of the APRA Act.

Request for feedback

APRA invites interested parties to make representations on whether any of the data identified in Appendix 1 should remain confidential, including specific information about any detriment to commercial interests that may arise from disclosure.

Written submissions should be emailed to dataconsultations@apra.gov.au by 6 November 2026 and addressed to:

Chief Data Officer,
Data, Technology and Security Division,
Australian Prudential Regulation Authority.

Following the conclusion of the consultation, APRA will consider any feedback received in deciding whether to make the proposed determination and communicate the outcome. APRA is satisfied a two-week consultation is appropriate in this specific case given the consultation relates to the confidentiality of data that is already published by APRA.

Yours sincerely,

Andy Robertson
Chief Data Office
Data, Technology and Security Division

    Note on submissions

It is APRA's policy to publish all submissions on the APRA website unless the respondent specifically tells APRA in writing that all or part of the submission is to remain confidential. An automatically generated confidentiality statement in an email does not satisfy this purpose. If you would like only part of your submission to be confidential, you should provide this information marked as 'confidential' in a separate attachment.

Submissions may be the subject of a request for access made under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOIA). APRA will determine such requests, if any, in accordance with the provisions of the FOIA. Information in the submission about any APRA-regulated entity that is not in the public domain and that is identified as confidential will be protected by section 56 of the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority Act 1998 and will therefore be exempt from production under the FOIA.
