The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has released its Quarterly Superannuation Performance publication report for the June 2026 quarter.
Key statistics for the superannuation industry as at 30 June 2026:

Total superannuation assets increased by 6.6 per cent over the quarter to $4.8 trillion as at June 2026, of which $3.4trillion was in APRA-regulated funds.
Total contributions increased by 12.8 per cent to $236.3 billion in the year ending in June 2026. Employer contributions increased by 9.5 per cent over the year to $164.4 billion. Member contributions increased by 21.0 per cent over the year to $71.9 billion.
Benefit payments increased by 12.1 per cent to $148.2 billion in the year ending in June 2026. This increase was the result of lump sum payments rising by 13.0 per cent to $82.5 billion and pension payments increasing by 11.0 per cent to $65.7 billion.
