The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) today released a discussion paper outlining proposals to change its statistical publications on authorised deposit-taking institutions (ADI).
APRA proposes that the statistics publications Quarterly Bank Performance and Quarterly Credit Union and Building Society Performance be consolidated into a single industry publication. The combined publication, Quarterly ADI Performance will incorporate statistics previously published in APRA Insight on capital adequacy, impaired facilities and credit union and building society liquidity.
The proposed combined publication will also include, for the first time, statistics for mutual banks or mutual ADIs to improve understanding and inform public discussion on that part of the industry.
APRA also proposes to introduce an ADI Property Exposure Statistics publication. This publication will include statistics on commercial property exposures, previously published in APRA Insight, and new statistics on residential property exposures and housing loan approvals.
The discussion paper is available on the APRA website.
Submissions on the proposed statistics are due by 15 February 2013 and should be sent via e-mail to statistics@apra.gov.au.
