The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) today announced the appointment of Mr John Doble to the position of General Manager of its planned Quality Assurance and Consistency Unit.
His appointment is effective 3 September.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Dobles role will be to develop "best practice" supervisory and enforcement procedures across the regulatory agency and performance benchmarks for APRAs external accountability.
Mr Doble has more than 12 years experience in quality management practice primarily in professional consulting and banking. His most recent role was Quality Director, Asia Pacific Financial Services with Accenture. He held service quality management roles with the State Bank of NSW prior to his move to consulting.
He holds a Masters in Quality Management and is a Registered Evaluator - Business Excellence Australia.
APRA is the prudential regulator of the financial services industry including banks, credit unions, building societies, general insurance and reinsurance companies, life insurance, friendly societies, and most members of the superannuation industry. It currently regulates and safely maintains $1.4 trillion in assets for 20 million Australians.
