Senior Management Changes at APRA

The Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), Mr Graeme Thompson, today announced the appointment of Mr Brandon Khoo to the role of Executive General Manager of APRAs Specialised Institutions Division and to APRAs Executive Committee.

Mr Khoos appointment is effective 17 August 2002.

He replaces Mr Les Phelps, who retires this month following distinguished careers with APRA and the Reserve Bank.

Specialised Institutions Division has responsibility for regulation and enforcement activities over some 3000 superannuation funds, approved trustees, deposit-takers, insurance companies and friendly societies.

Mr Khoo currently holds the position of General Manager of APRAs Brisbane Office. Prior to joining APRA in 1999, he held senior prudential regulation roles with the Australian Financial Institutions Commission and the Queensland Office of Financial Supervision.

Mr Khoo is a chartered accountant with a background in audit. He holds a Bachelor of Business  Accountancy and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
