The Australian Government has announced that it will guarantee certain deposits and other liabilities of Australian banks, building societies, credit unions and branches and subsidiaries of foreign banks. Click here for an overview of the guarantee via a Questions and Answers document.

Scheme legal documentation and application procedures for the guarantee of large deposits and wholesale funding are now available on the guarantee web site www.guaranteescheme.gov.au.
