The Quarterly Superannuation Performance provides industry aggregate summaries of financial performance, financial position and key ratios. Together with the Annual Superannuation Bulletin, it replaces the quarterly Superannuation Trends.

Classification of superannuation entities
APRA has recently reviewed the classification of superannuation entities. The following document describes the functional descriptions of corporate, industry, public sector, retail and small funds and provides examples of each type. The results of a recent APRA review of superannuation fund types for the largest entities and the impact on previously published APRA data are also summarised.

Data in this publication are sourced from regulatory returns submitted to APRA under the Financial Sector (Collection of Data) Act 2001 by superannuation entities with at least $50 million in assets. For blank copies of the returns and associated instructions click here.
