Life Insurance Diskette Lodgement System

A significant number of life insurance returns are required on APRA's Excel based diskette lodgement system. As part of the release of Version 6 of the APRA Life Insurance Diskette Lodgement System (DLS) revised for International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), on 13 January 2006 APRA issued the revised quarterly and half-yearly returns under DLS as part of stage one of the release.

On 15 March 2006 APRA released the revised DLS incorporating the quarterly, half-yearly and annual returns under Prudential Rules No 26 - Collection of Statistics and Prudential Rules No 35 - Financial Statements. This version (Version 6) of the DLS effectively replaced the DLS issued in January.

These changes follow APRA's consultation with industry regarding the adoption of IFRS by life insurers to prudential reporting.
