Reporting periods and due dates

  1. Monthly reporting - ADIs must provide information to APRA for the monthly returns based on a calendar month.

Monthly returns are due ten working days after the end of the month.

  1. Quarterly reporting - ADIs must provide information to APRA for the reporting periods comprising the quarters ending 30 September, 31 December, 31 March and 30 June.

Quarterly returns are due either 15 days, 20 days or 25 days (depending on the form) after the end of the reporting period.

  1. Sub - annual reporting - ADIs must provide information to APRA for the reporting periods comprising the six-month period ending the 30 September and 31 March.

Sub - annual returns are due either 15 days or 20 days after the end of the reporting period.

  1. Annual reporting - ADIs must provide information to APRA for the annual returns based on a twelve month period ending on 30 June.

Annual returns are due either 20 days or 40 days (depending on the form) after the end of the reporting period.

The reporting requirements for ADIs have been given legal effect through ADI Reporting Standards determined under the Financial Sector (Collection of Data) Act 2001. The final Reporting Standards have been tabled in Parliament and are also available on the APRA web site.

D2A software system for lodgement of forms

As part of the reporting regime, ADIs will need to use D2A (Direct to APRA) to lodge the new returns to APRA. D2A will allow ADIs to enter data, validate the information entered and then digitally sign and submit the information in an encrypted form. To find out more about D2A click here.
