Pat Brennan was appointed as Executive General Manager, Policy and Advice Division in July 2016, prior to which he was APRA’s General Manager of Policy Development. This Division contains five teams – Advice and Approvals, Licensing, Legal, Policy Development, and Resolution and Enforcement.
Mr Brennan joined APRA in 2011 and led APRA’s specialist credit and operational risk team, and has been involved in a significant number of APRA’s policy and supervision initiatives. Mr Brennan represents APRA on the Policy Development Group of the Basel Committee. Prior to joining APRA, Mr Brennan spent 25 years working in the banking industry, covering a range of financial markets and treasury roles in Australia, New Zealand and in London.
Mr Brennan’s qualifications include a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University. Mr Brennan has also completed the Executive Fellows program at the Australia and New Zealand School of Government.
